Here, where we are, as we are, is our ecology. I am an urban dweller with southern and midwestern roots. The southern roots are rural. The midwestern roots are deeply and generationally urban. Those roots sometimes war with each other, but mostly inform my daily life. I treasure the limited number of trees I meet sunk into holes in the concrete or on devil strips. I try to learn their names. I, with my partner, keep a garden and am looking forward to a major compost and strawberry relocation. My poetry grows out of my urban life as well as my meditation practice. All these aspects of myself, and more, will inform future social commentary, poetisizing and reflections. Thank you for reading my thoughts. This is very new to me, so I appreciate your patience as I gain skills and experience with this new literary form.
