Each week’s farm share brings the items that please and comfort us the most, or at least brings us closer to them – the corn is tasseling, the tomatoes are flowering, and this week we had all the making of pesto in our bag:
We got –
Beets and beet greens
Green Beans and these purple and cream striped beans called Thai Dragon (I think)
The last of the shell peas
We rushed home and made basil pesto. On Tuesday we had carrot soup with North African spices. We feel virtuous eating our vegetables, and satisfied by the rich flavors of the recipes we are trying. Tonight maybe beet ginger soup and something with peas.
